Proper training in Ayurveda requires regular practice from early childhood, starting with the pulse knowledge. They also chant slohkas (vedic hymns) in order to orally acquire the knowledge and embed it in their physiology.

Because it is too late to gain full mastery when study begins later in life, the Raju family has started a foundation to select and educate gifted children in authentic ayurveda from this optimum early age.

Dr. A.V. Raju and Soujanya have two children who are learning. Dr. Padma and Harish Raju have two twins. Dr. Harsha Raju and Sri Lakshmi Raju have two children who are learning.
